A Day and a Half of Relaxation!
I can't believe it is already Thanksgiving! Where does the time go? I am looking forward to a tasty family dinner tomorrow and just relaxing. Then Friday, it is back to work. I am preparing the studio for the Grand Opening next week and I am also making pieces for all of my upcoming shows. I will post a list soon. I am very excited about a photo shoot for the studio. I met a great photographer Karina Marie Diaz...she does amazing work and she is coming to the studio before the event to take some pictures. So for those of you that can't make the event, there will be lots of photos here on the blog. This is also the season for holiday parties. I am looking forward to 2 of them this coming week. Also, I thought I would post a before picture of the studio...

Busy...Busy...Busy
The holidays are such a busy time for me. It makes me look forward to having some time off right before Christmas. I am hoping my parents decide to come out to SF for the holidays. The last time they visited, we were living in San Jose ( about 45 min. from SF), so now it will be alot more convenient and I can show them all of my favorite spots in the city.
Anyway, today was another day of studio preparation. My husband and I spent a little over an hour at Ikea ( it is like a jungle gym in there on the weekends) buying the last of the furniture. I bought some shelves and lighting. Tommorow we are going to head back over and assemble it all. Unfortunately, I have to head to Santa Rosa first thing in the morning ( a fun 1hr drive) just to drop off some pieces to one of my contractors for a rush.
I am really excited to see the finished product. On Tuesday I am meeting with my friend Helen who owns a fabric store in the neighborhood....she is going to design some custom drapes and pillows for me. She also has a great line of accessories she creates from her fabrics...check them out at http://www.cookieandthedude.com/ . Below is a picture of some of her belts.

Design Studio in the Works
I am just settling in to watch Pushing Daisies, one of my favorite shows. I am ready to relax after a long day of moving into my new design studio. I am so excited to have a place to work as well as a small showroom. The building I am in is called Activ Space. It is a complex filled with small business owners. My office is in a courtyard on the 2nd floor and it will be open for shopping by appointment as well as during special open studio events. Today my assistant and I painted the space, and for the rest of the week...I will be moving in my furniture. I will make an announcement when the space is open and ready for shoppers. I am also having a grand opening holiday party....so stay tuned.
In other news...Frolick was recently featured on a blog called Flights of Fancy. Here's the link to check it out.... http://www.betsywhite.com/flightsoffancy/index.php/2008/11/frolick-jewelry/

I have been busy with holiday shows such as Vino Moda, a 2 day show that included wine tasting and shopping. The event was held at Fort Mason here in San Francisco. I met lots of great designers including jewelry designer Dara Ettinger and clothing designer Stella Neptune. I was able to do some trading (my favorite pastime) for a really cool T-shirt and a blazer with butterflies silk screened on it. I am also excited to announce that I am opening a design studio here in San Francisco. I am hoping to have a grand opening party around the first week in December. I will be in good company with lots of other clothing designers, boutiques, salons, artist, and more. More to come on that soon!!

I am so proud of myself that I have blogged for 2 consecutive days. Woo hoo! Today I went to the Gen Art Faces fashion show and VIP party. My friends Kayse had 2 tickets and invited me to go with her. It was a fun evening. There were complimentary drinks ( even though you had to wait in a VERY long line to get them) and a nice goodie bag. We had great seats for the show...they were debuting the spring collections of 6 designers. My favorite designer was Christopher Collins. His designs were classic with a fresh twist. Above are a couple of my favorite pieces, but you can check out the site for yourself at http://www.christophercollinscollection.com/ .

Ok...so I haven't blogged in quite a while. I know I promised to do better, but I have been soooo very busy. Let me give a brief overview of what I have been up to since my last post. I was on the road for 2 weeks. First I was in New York for a week...my husband went for Ad Week and I went for
some showroom appointments. Then I flew from NY to Cincinatti. I went
to visit one of my best friends, Michelle, for a girls weekend. We had lots of fun catching up and I even squeezed in a store account. It was this really cute boutique called Sassy's. She had these adorable handmade picture frames and I bought one for my moms birthday.
Anyway, I flew back home and got started on the spring collection and began preparing for the Atlanta AmericasMart Tradeshow that was Oct. 11-14. I took a day off for my birthday October 1st...my husband took me out to dinner and bought me a killer pair of grey Ferragamo patent leather wedges I had my eye on.
Shortly after, I left for the Atlanta show. I stayed another close friend, Debbie. It was great catching up with her too. I miss my friends...I wish I could see them more often. The tradeshow is from 9am-6pm everyday, so I a little time after work to grab dinner with friends. It ended up being a very good show. One of the best things that came from the show was meeting the owner of the showroom that will now be representing Frolick in LA, Dallas, and various other markets.
So now that you are up to speed, maybe you can see why I am behind on my blogging. I am finally about to go to bed after a long day of making orders and updating the website. I am looking forward to a night out with my friend Kayse...but I will leave that for my next post.

Excited to Be Here!

I have been a bad blogger in the past ( posting once a month...or even less), but this time I promise to do better. This is my busy season for Frolick, so I should have plenty of things to blog about. Right now it is 2am and I am still awake answering emails and invoicing orders. I am awake mostly because I had the worlds strongest iced coffee. I swore off coffee a couple of months ago, and this was my first relapse...I definitely learned my lesson. I went to a cute little coffee shop called Emma's, which is only 2 blocks from my house. The windows are like sliding glass doors...so I was able to catch a nice breeze and do some people watching...I guess I just got caught up in the moment. Anyway, it's off to bed now. I have an early day of making more orders! Check out a montage of my latest photo shoot. My photographer friend Christine Gallagher did the shoot for me. She is amazing! She was also my wedding photographer. I love checking out her blog, just to see her latest shoots.
